You may ask, "You been a program for 11 years. Why is fundraising new?"
We have been a non-profit for only 3 years. The decision to join the non-profit community was a difficult one. We proved the riddle true.
Question: "How do you make a small fortune in horses?"
Answer: "you start with a large one!"
We had no fortune besides how otherwise fortunate we are.
Yes, it is hard to make ends meet when the work is horse.
Our industry leader, PATH Intl. has determined that it takes
$120 to present one session. Our going compensation
rate with Disability Service Providers is $77.42/hour.
A shortfall we could not continue to weather.
So after 8 years of trying to make it as a for profit, we made the business model change. It takes time, focus and effort to create anything. Hoofbeats Academy has invested more than a decade to evolve into a safe haven where people get strong, exercise their minds and meet their social needs. Will it take as long to get the attention we need and the support we deserve?
So, we are hoping for the best on November 29th because we need the help now. Support us by donating and posting an "un-selfie" on your social media with why you support Hoofbeats Academy. Help us get the ball rolling so we can get as good at fundraising as we are at providing adaptive horsemanship.
PS: We need a horse trailer desperately. The critical need is in case of medical or environmental emergency. We are dependent on hired and volunteer transport. This can be quite an issue when time is a factor.
The program need is to "move" our program into the community. We want to take more students to shows; and participate in events to raise awareness and support.
#GivingTuesday donations to our program will directed to this need. The trailer we need will cost $10,000. Let's do even better and work on buying the truck, too! 🐴
